Grilled Sourdough with Goat Cheese
Try this uniquely delicious appetizer for your next gathering!

- â…“ cup butter, melted
- 12 slices sourdough bread, Â˝â€ť thick
- 2 apples, peeled, cored and cut into Â˝â€ť rings
- 1 medium red onion, peeled and cut into Â˝â€ť rings
- â…“ cup dried cranberries
- ÂĽ cup crystallized ginger, finely chopped
- 4 oz. soft goat cheese or cream cheese
Heat grill to medium high heat.
Brush sourdough slices, apple slices and onion slices with melted butter; set aside sourdough slices.
Place apples and onions on grill. Cook for 10 minutes or until lightly browned; turn over and continue cooking until lightly browned and softened (8-10 minutes).
During last 2 minutes of cooking, place sourdough slices on grill. Cook sourdough for 1 minute then turn over and continue cooking for 1 additional minute
Coarsely chop apples and onions; in small bowl, stir together apples, onions, cranberries and ginger.
Spread each slice of grilled sourdough with goat cheese, then top with a heaping tablespoon of apple mixture. Drizzle with honey.
